Nessa Ensey, CPA

Nessa is a Senior Manager in the Audit Department at Puryear & Noonan CPAs. Since joining the firm in 2020, she has specialized in nonprofit audits with a focus on state and federal grant compliance. She enjoys the variety of clients she serves, working directly with business owners and nonprofit leaders to understand both their industries and their stories. Building close client relationships and helping organizations strengthen their financial health is what energizes her most.

Originally from Beijing, China, Nessa earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Financial Management before completing her Master’s Degree in Accountancy at Loyola University Chicago in 2014. She began her career in public accounting in Chicago, focusing on the real estate and nonprofit sectors, before relocating to Nashville and joining P&N. She appreciates the firm’s culture of respect, where leadership listens, values employees, and creates an environment of belonging—a quality she sees as setting P&N apart from larger firms.

Outside of work, Nessa enjoys reading historical novels, birdwatching, and rock climbing—despite her fear of heights. She also loves exploring nature and observing wildlife, which helps her recharge and find balance.
