Puryear & Noonan is a public accounting firm that specializes in serving nonprofits, individuals and businesses with their tax, audit, compliance, bookkeeping, consulting and exit strategy needs. At the end of the day our goal is to come alongside people and businesses to help them succeed.
In 1962, William Puryear began offering public accounting services in Downtown Nashville with the simple goal of helping clients. Over the next several decades he brought on several partners as the firm grew and the firm became known as Puryear, Hamilton, Hausman & Wood. In 1999, Michael McKerley & Spike Noonan founded McKerley & Noonan with the same philosophy as William Puryear – helping clients and creating a family friendly work environment. Over the next 18 years, McKerley & Noonan grew during which Susan Keffer and Justin Schellenberg came on as partners.
Over the years, the two firms developed a professional working relationship, and on January 1, 2019 the two firms decided to merge in order to better serve our client and employees. The ‘helping others’ philosophy continues on in the combined firm.
