Elena Steffa

Elena is an Audit Staff Accountant at Puryear & Noonan CPAs, where she focuses on 401(k) audits and nonprofit clients. She loves the assurance side of audit work, knowing that her efforts help protect people’s future livelihoods and strengthen organizations that make a difference in the community. Going onsite to meet clients is one of her favorite parts of the job, as it lets her see how different organizations operate and build personal connections.

Since joining P&N, Elena has grown significantly in her technical expertise—especially in 401(k) audits, which she first encountered as an intern. She credits the firm’s supportive culture for providing both professional development and flexibility that allows her to maintain a healthy work–life balance. She especially values the kindness and lightheartedness that make P&N unique in the accounting industry.

Originally from Lexington, Illinois, Elena moved to Nashville several years ago to attend Belmont University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree and is now pursuing her Master of Accountancy. She got married this summer and plans to begin studying for the CPA exam next.

Outside of work, Elena is an avid adventurer and outdoors enthusiast. Whether hiking, kayaking, or fishing, she recharges by spending time in nature. A self-described daredevil, she loves trying new things—anything from cliff jumping to unusual foods. She also enjoys unwinding with a good book, time at the gym, or exploring new coffee shops around Nashville.
