Kimberly Coward, CPA

Kimberly is a Senior Manager in our Tax Department, specializing in individual and business entity tax returns. She strives to minimize her clients’ taxes within the bounds of the law and to help them avoid costly mistakes down the road. At the same time, her work as an accountant is shaped by her deepest value that people matter most. She aspires to see the humanity in each of her clients and to ease the stress of tax compliance.

Passionate about learning new things and sharing what she discovers, Kimberly has conducted staff training in partnerships, rental activities, Tennessee’s Franchise & Excise Tax, and general accounting and tax. She loves being part of a team of accountants who pool their expertise and gifts to provide their clients with the best public accounting services in Middle Tennessee.

Before joining Puryear & Noonan, Kimberly’s diverse background included experience as a controller at a car dealership and as pastor of two congregations. She received a Master of Accounting from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, as well as degrees in business management and divinity from other institutions.

Kimberly was born in Orlando and has lived primarily in Florida and Georgia. In 2015, she and her family settled in Middle Tennessee for its beautiful landscape and four seasons. She is married to her best friend and has three children, as well as three grandchildren. When not at the office, she is happiest spending time with her family, reading, writing, and serving as a lay preacher.

Her commitment to compassion and excellence mirrors Puryear & Noonan’s mission “to create great experiences for our clients and team.” She is known for her wisdom, thoughtful guidance, and genuine care for both clients and colleagues—embodying the firm’s values of empathy, humility, positivity, loyalty, and a drive to succeed.
