Jami Pope, CPA

Jami is a Partner and the Chief Financial Officer at Puryear & Noonan CPAs, where he leads the firm’s attest services practice. Since becoming a partner in 2008, he has combined his passion for audit work with a heart for service—especially in the nonprofit sector and with churches. For Jami, audit engagements go beyond financial statements. He values the opportunity to provide “best practice recommendations” that help organizations strengthen internal controls, improve systems, and operate more effectively in pursuit of their missions.

Jami appreciates the supportive, family-oriented culture at P&N, where flexibility and care for employees set the firm apart from others. He has experienced firsthand the value of this work family, which has stood by him during challenging personal times.

A native of Shelbyville, Tennessee, Jami earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Middle Tennessee State University in 1989 and became a CPA the following year. He remains closely connected to MTSU as a member of the Department of Accounting Advisory Board and is also active in the AICPA, TSCPA, and Belle Aire Baptist Church.

Outside of work, Jami enjoys exercising, reading, and cheering on the Tennessee Titans, UT Vols, and Atlanta Braves. Most of all, he treasures time with his three sons and his granddaughter. Though many might not guess it, Jami is more of an introvert than an extrovert, preferring meaningful connections over the spotlight.
